None of the limits below are about willingness. Each one needs equipment that cannot be carried to a driveway, or access that only a franchised dealer holds. Where there is a sensible alternative, it is named.

Taking an engine or transmission apart internally. That is bench work needing a clean space, specialist tools and measuring equipment.

Panel repair, paint, windshield replacement and body alignment. Different trade entirely.

Fitting and balancing tires needs a mounting machine and a balancer.
Where to go instead: A tire shop. We can tell you what your tire wear is reporting about the suspension and alignment before you spend money on new ones.
Some module programming, key coding and recall or warranty work can only be done through a franchised dealer with manufacturer access.
Where to go instead: Your franchised dealer. Warranty and recall work should be free there, so it is worth checking before paying anyone.
